Subscriptions, cancellations and your consumer rights.
Last updated 25 October 2026
This policy covers subscriptions, renewals and teacher seats purchased from Be Bright Classroom Tools by individual teachers, schools and organisations. It should be read with our terms of service and shipping and digital delivery policy. It does not set the refund terms for lessons sold by independent teachers to their students; those are agreed with the teacher.
We do not offer a voluntary money-back guarantee. Except where applicable law requires otherwise, payments are not refundable because you change your mind, stop using the program, purchase the wrong plan, leave allowances or seats unused, or cancel partway through a paid period. There is no voluntary pro-rata refund for unused time or allowances.
This restriction does not apply to a statutory cooling-off right, an incorrect or duplicate charge, non-delivery, or a remedy you are entitled to for a defective service. Your legal rights always take priority over this policy.
Where section 44 of South Africa's Electronic Communications and Transactions Act applies, a consumer may cancel a service transaction without reason or penalty within seven days after the agreement is concluded, and payments must be refunded within 30 days after cancellation. The Act contains exclusions, including certain services begun with the consumer's consent before the cooling-off period ends. An exclusion applies only when its legal requirements are met; merely publishing this policy does not establish your consent or waive your rights.
Rights under the Consumer Protection Act, including applicable cancellation rights, rights to service quality and remedies for service failures, remain available. Mandatory consumer protections in another country also apply where legally required. A statutory cancellation charge may be applied only where the law permits it; the no-change-of-mind rule does not replace those statutory rules.
Individual teachers can request cancellation from Billing and Subscription. An authorised school administrator can stop the school plan from the school's Billing tab. Where automatic renewal is enabled, cancel before the next renewal to prevent a future charge. Where it is not enabled, payment covers the period shown at checkout and a further payment is needed to renew.
Ordinary cancellation stops future renewal and leaves access available until the end of the paid period. It does not by itself request a refund. Contact support separately if you are exercising a statutory cancellation right or disputing a charge. A free trial with no payment has nothing to refund.
Report duplicate, incorrect or unauthorised charges, paid access that has not activated, or a substantial service failure through the Support Centre as soon as you can. We will investigate the payment and service records and provide the correction, repeat performance, refund or other remedy required by law. A temporary interruption does not automatically entitle every user to a full refund; the circumstances and applicable law determine the remedy.
Do not make another payment to fix missing access before asking us to check the original payment. Contact your payment provider promptly if you suspect an unauthorised payment. Nothing in this policy prevents a lawful payment dispute or complaint to a consumer authority.
Open the Support Centre inside the app and include your account email, payment reference, payment date, amount and reason for the request. Never send a password, full card number or security code. A school request should come from its authorised account administrator. If you cannot sign in, use password recovery; payment disputes can also be raised with your payment provider.
We will communicate the outcome and reason through the support conversation. This policy does not impose a shorter deadline than the law allows for asserting your rights.
Refunds are reviewed and processed by the operator; submitting a request does not trigger an automatic refund. An approved or legally required refund is returned through the original payment method where supported, in the original charged currency, unless a different lawful arrangement is necessary. Bank and payment-provider processing times vary; they do not extend a statutory refund deadline.
For a valid cancellation under ECTA section 44, the refund deadline is 30 days from cancellation. Other refunds follow the deadline required by applicable law. We do not deduct a processing or administration fee where the law requires a full refund. Your bank's currency conversion can affect what appears in your account.
