The agreement between you and Be Bright Classroom Tools.
Last updated 25 October 2026
These terms are the agreement between you and Be Bright Classroom Tools for the use of this app. By signing in and using it, you accept them. If you are using a school account, your school has also accepted them for its staff.
Accounts are created for teachers and for the staff of a school account. If you are invited by email, the invitation is for the address it was sent to and for you personally.
You are responsible for what happens under your account, so keep your password to yourself and tell support at once if you think somebody else has it. One person per account: accounts are not to be shared.
Everything you upload and everything you write belongs to you. Using the app gives no ownership of your material to anybody else.
You are responsible for having the right to store what you upload and what you record about your students, including a parent's or guardian's permission where one is needed.
Do not use the app for anything unlawful, do not upload material you have no right to use, do not attempt to reach another teacher's workspace, and do not interfere with the app or with other people's use of it.
Do not copy the app, resell it as your own, or use it to build a competing product.
The app itself, its design, its wording, its name and its teaching tools remain the property of Be Bright Classroom Tools and are protected by copyright, so no part of them may be reproduced in another product.
Starter is the everyday teaching workspace for student management, lesson planning, classroom tools, manual reports, reusable drafts and teaching administration. Pro includes Starter's tools plus optional AI assistance and additional storage, subject to its stated allowances. School plans coordinate teacher seats, shared resources and oversight; School Custom has agreed seats, allowances and storage. Current prices, available features and limits are shown before payment.
Eligible individual teachers may start a seven-day Starter trial under the displayed trial rules, with no charge during the trial. Paid AI writing, translation and spell-checking are not included in Starter or its trial. Pro and school plans are paid plans with no free trial.
A subscription provides access for the billing period shown at checkout. Where automatic renewal is enabled, cancel before the next renewal to prevent another charge. Otherwise a further payment is required to renew. Ordinary cancellation leaves access until the end of the paid period. A plan is treated as paid only after the payment provider confirms payment. The refund policy explains statutory cancellation and refund rights.
When trial or paid access ends, the teaching workspace is paused until an active plan is in place. Your saved students, lessons, records, files and drafts are retained rather than deleted solely because access expired. Billing, Support Centre and Settings remain available; expired access does not provide a continuing free teaching workspace.
Prices may change. A change is announced before it applies to you, and it never applies to a period you have already paid for.
Paid AI tools require an active qualifying subscription and remaining allowance. For individual teachers, these are Pro extras, not part of Starter or its trial. Pro's AI assistance actions are shared across report drafting, comments and file reading, not a separate allowance for each. AI translation has both call and character limits, and AI spelling has a separate limit. Billing shows your current allowances and period dates.
Requests stop when the relevant allowance is exhausted. There is no automatic paid over-limit use or surprise overage charge. Monthly AI allowances reset for the next applicable period and do not carry over; courseware storage is an ongoing capacity limit, not a fresh monthly upload allowance. School accounts use their agreed plan and shared limits, not individual Pro allowances for each seat.
Supported browser spelling, translation, dictation and read-aloud use no app AI allowance and have no automatic paid AI fallback. Browser and device availability vary. Saving, editing and reusing report or comment drafts use no additional AI actions; requesting a new AI generation consumes an action. Teachers must review accuracy and personalise drafts before sharing them. AI output is assistance, not a guarantee of educational accuracy or results.
The app is improved over time: features are added, changed or retired. Where a change materially affects what you pay for, you will be told.
The app is kept running as reliably as we can, but it is a teaching aid, and a temporary interruption can happen.
A school account belongs to the school. The school decides who it invites, what each staff member may do, and how many teacher seats it pays for. If you leave a school, or the school removes you, your access to that school's workspace ends; your own account and your own material remain yours.
You may stop using the app at any time, and ask for your account to be closed.
Access may be suspended or closed for non-payment, for breaking these terms, or where the law requires it. Where it is reasonable to do so, you will be told and given the chance to put things right.
The app is provided as a teaching aid, and no particular teaching result is promised. To the fullest extent the law allows, the app's liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid in the month before the claim arose.
Nothing in these terms takes away any right you have under South African consumer law, and nothing here excludes liability that the law does not allow to be excluded.
The law of South Africa applies to this agreement.
If these terms change, the new version appears here with a new date. Questions about any of it can be asked through the Support Centre inside the app.
